Events Coordinator

Overview

CCAT is known for its incredible events and workshops. The Education Coordinator sees to it that this tradition is carried on and that people walk away from our events educated, excited, and ready for more. They coordinate with other clubs and groups on campus and in the community to involve as many varying interests and perspectives as possible with CCAT events, workshops, and educational activities. 

Duties

Position-Specific Duties

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate events and workshops, including large events like May Day and Harvest Celebration
  • Reach out to and build relationships with community members who may be interested in teaching workshops or be part of future events
  • Coordinate with publicist to promote events, volunteer coordinator to staff events, and fundraiser to create the budget for events
  • Coordinate with other clubs/groups and people in the campus and community
  • Keep good documentation of events, processes, and improvement strategies
  • Incorporate Environmental Justice, Decolonization, and community empowerment into events curriculum.

    General CCAT duties for all employees

    • Attend regular employee and branch meetings
    • Assist in tabling and outreach efforts
    • Assist in the preparation of volunteer and employee meals a few times a semester
    • Assist other employees, volunteers, and Co-Directors as necessary

    Requirements

    • Must be an HSU student during your employment
    • Experience, knowledge, and/or excitement for event and group coordination
    • Has good time management and able to meet deadlines
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills

    Helpful Experience

    • Previous event planning experience
    • Experience with coordinating volunteers or handling publicity 
    • Experience writing an event budget

    Schedule and Pay

    • 8 hours / week
    • $10 / hour $2,240/ year
    • Flexible scheduling, to be coordinated with Co-Directors and your branch
